The 2025 Charlotte Asian Festival brought vibrancy and excitement to Ramsey Creek Park on Lake Norman on Saturday, May 17. This annual celebration, held in honor of Asian-Pacific Heritage Month, provided a space for Asian and non-Asian communities to come together and appreciate the richness of Asian culture, diversity, and history.

With a dynamic lineup of activities, the festival immersed attendees in cultural performances, traditional Asian cuisine, and engaging crafts and cultural booths. One of the most anticipated highlights was the Charlotte Dragon Boat Festival, where teams raced across the water in beautifully decorated boats, showcasing an ancient sport that dates back more than 2,000 years.

Since its inception in 2000 at Marshall Park in Uptown Charlotte, the Asian Festival has grown steadily. The move to Ramsey Creek Park in 2006 was a pivotal step, allowing the festival to expand and include the thrilling Dragon Boat Race. Year after year, the event has continued to evolve, drawing larger crowds eager to experience the sights, sounds, and flavors of Asian heritage.
