This past Saturday, the annual MLK Parade brought energy and celebration to the streets of uptown Charlotte. Crowds lined Tryon Street as more than 100 groups made their way through the parade route, honoring the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Marching bands, step teams, civic organizations, and cultural groups all contributed to a vibrant, community-wide event.

Martin Luther King Jr. Day—a federal holiday observed on Monday, January 19 this year—honors Dr. King’s lifelong fight against racial discrimination and his enduring message of justice, equality, and service. Attendees showed their respect by gathering together, reflecting on his words, and celebrating the impact of his leadership.
